Data Distribution Plan/Procedure
The Indian MCC is connected with 4 national ARCCs (Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata) of the Airports Authority of India, 3 MRCCs (Chennai, Mumbai, Port Blair) of India Coast Guard and 7 SPOCs (Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Srilanka, Tanzania and Seychelles) through Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN) backed with manual FAX. The data distribution network is shown in the diagram below. The Indian MCC automatically detects and transmits any distress alert received from the areas covered under these ARCCs, MRCCs and SPOCs to the designated points of contact of respective ARCCs, MRCCs and SPOCs. The ARCCs and MRCCs coordinate the search and rescue operations with the appropriate SAR agencies. MRCCs Chennai and Mumbai receive all the alerts falling in 4 RCCs service area by AFTN as well as by e-mail, whereas MRCC Port Blair receives the alert by e-mail only. The RCCs receive the alerts by AFTN only.
